Adam C. Brown, Esq.
Mr. Brown received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Greensboro College in 2011. While a student at Greensboro College, he was fortunate to have served as a Congressional Intern for Congresswoman Nydia M. Velazquez (D-New York, 7th District) in the Financial Services Committee of the United State House of Representatives. While working as a congressional intern, he had the opportunity to observe congressional hearings and observe firsthand how the law changed the country after the Great Recession.
As a student at Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, Mr. Brown became president of Tax Law Society. He participated in the Tax Clinic where he represented clients before the United States Tax Court. While still in law school, Mr. Brown had the opportunity and the good fortune to work as an Intern for Mitchell & Titus LLP in New York. At Mitchell & Titus, he had the benefit of the example set by experienced tax professionals who introduced him to the rudiments of a private tax practice. He was permitted to work on the preparation of tax returns and introduced to the concepts of strategic tax planning for partnerships, corporations, individuals, and nonprofits.
Upon graduating from Rutgers School of Law, Mr. Brown worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James R. Paganelli, J.S.C., in the Family Part of the Superior Court in Essex County. During his clerkship Mr. Brown saw how the decisions in the Family Part changed the dynamics of households throughout our community. The clerkship proved invaluable as after his clerkship Mr. Brown received a fellowship with Rutgers Law Associates. As a Rutgers Law Fellow, Mr. Brown worked in Newark organizing non-profits. He also worked with community organizations including the Newark Community Street Team (“NCST”) where he assisted ex-offenders with legal issues. The primary purpose of the community initiatives was to reduce recidivism.
In addition to his clerkship in the Family Part and the experience gained through Rutgers Law Associates, Mr. Brown has worked for several prominent family law firms throughout New Jersey. In those positions, Mr. Brown has enjoyed primary responsibility for all aspects of Family Part litigation and has successfully tried complex cases involving equitable distribution of closely held businesses, support obligations for executives at publicly traded companies, contested relocation of children, custody modification, and Final Restraining Order hearings.
Mr. Brown serves as Of Counsel to our firm.
