Branka Banić, Esq.
Branka Banić is Of Counsel to the firm. She is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick and Seton Hall University School of Law. Before commencing her work as a matrimonial attorney, Branka gained invaluable experience through her law school Immigration and Human Right’s Clinic wherein she represented individuals before the Department of Homeland Security. Subsequently, she went on to work directly with the United States Department of Justice and also spent a number of years working for the City of Elizabeth’s Corporate Counsel, where she gained general civil litigation experience. Before entering private practice, Branka served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Tober, J.S.C., in the Somerset County Family Part.
Branka’s capacity to remain calm under pressure and in chaotic situations is critical in family law litigation. She takes pride in meticulous preparation, and she embraces challenges in an effort to ease the pressures of those clients who depend on her dogged advocacy. Branka finds her work in family law fulfilling as it enables her to assist individuals through some of the most trying times of their lives—an effort that demands a combination of skills extending well beyond mere legal research and other purely academic talents. She finds long-term planning and a proactive approach to be essential elements to successful litigation. The issues implicated in custody and financial disputes carry long-term consequences, which are best anticipated and addressed at the outset to avoid unnecessary stress on all parties involved.
Branka’s diverse legal background is a testament to her versatility and her ability to successfully adjust to any situation. Her work experiences with federal judges, state judges, and numerous supervisory attorneys have ensured that she is able to handle any issue with zeal and tenacity. Branka is a member of the New Jersey Bar and Somerset County Bar Association. She also speaks Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, and some German.
